All Elite Wrestling TV Launches In October

Az Joyce

Wrestling is back on TNT, over in the States, for the first time in almost 20 years! Starting on Wednesday, October 2nd, All Elite Wrestling will begin airing a weekly 2 hour TV show at 8pm ET. The first episode will air live from the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C., just two days before rival wrestling fed WWE moves SmackDown to Fox Sports on Friday nights. Fans here in the U.K. unfortunately still have no news on where AEW will air, but all signs seem to point to a potential deal with ITV, hopefully, we’ll have an update before AEW launches in October.

The weekly show is currently unnamed but AEW Dynamite has been running around the rumour mill for months now, we’d assume the company will drop a name on or before its All Out PPV on August 31st.

AEW President Tony Khan has said that the company hope to “capture the lapsed fan” and if the shows, the company have put on so far are anything to go by it certainly harkens back to the wrestling of yesteryear.

As a huge fan of pro wrestling, let’s hope AEW succeed on their quest of shifting the wrestling paradigm. Are you excited for AEW and wrestling potentially being “cool” again? I know I am… Let us know in the comments below!

AEW is headed up by stars such as Chris Jericho, Cody & Brandi Rhodes, The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley (FKA Dean Ambrose), Dr Britt Baker, Awesome Kong and Jim Ross on commentary
