With the dust just about settled on the finale of Game of Thrones (let’s not get into that…) the prequel series is currently shooting under the codename ‘Bloodmoon’.
Set thousands of years before the recently wrapped series, George R.R. Martin, who’s exec. producing the prequel, has been chatting to Entertainment Weekly about the progress and spilt a few minor details in the process.
The biggest news is that the Starks will be back, just not the ones you know. “The Starks will definitely be there” says Martin, but obviously this new depiction will be many generations prior to the family we know and love, still, seeing the early days of their lineage could be pretty interesting.
Another familiar returning face, or faces, are the White Walkers. “the White Walkers are here – or as they’re called in my books, The Others – and that will be an aspect of it.” Martin adds “There are also things like direwolves and mammoths.”
Filming is currently taking place with Naomi Watts (King Kong), Naomi Ackie (SW:Episode 9) and (not Naomi) Denise Gough (The Kid Who Would be King) in as yet unknown roles.
There’s no word on the title of the show yet, hopefully, we won’t have to wait as long as fans of the books to find out what it is.
Are you ready to go back to Westeros??
